About The Position

Penn State is currently seeking a Project Manager to support Annual Giving, a key fundraising office for development. As a member of the Division of Development and Alumni Relations, this role offers an opportunity to play an integral role in Penn State’s future and contribute to one of the most successful fundraising and alumni relations operations in the country. The successful candidate will lead project management efforts for the Office of Annual Giving, develop timelines for fundraising campaigns, ensure timely completion of projects, work in concert with External Engagement project management staff, and act as a liaison with Development Communications. This role requires articulating Penn State’s needs, ambitions, and values through excellent informal and formal communications.

Requirements

  • Experience planning projects and utilizing project management software such as Workfront
  • Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ability to create and maintain an inclusive and respectful environment for all students and colleagues
  • Excellent relationship building skills
  • A proven ability to self-motivate and work both independently and as part of a team
  • A commitment to professional development, learning, and being mentored
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 1+ years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in annual giving, advancement, or nonprofit fundraising
  • Familiarity with higher education fundraising structures and centralized/decentralized fundraising models
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing campaign calendars
  • Knowledge of donor communications and multi-channel solicitation strategy

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project management efforts for the Office of Annual Giving
  • Develop timelines for Annual Giving fundraising campaigns and ensure timely completion of projects
  • Work in concert with the External Engagement project management staff
