About The Position

The Engineering Effectiveness group is responsible for enabling efficient, predictable, and high-quality execution across Genetec’s engineering organization. The team focuses on improving engineering workflows, tools, and project management practices to support the development of complex software solutions. As a Project Manager, you will join the Program Management Office (PMO), a centralized team of project managers supporting engineering product groups. You will oversee cross-functional software initiatives, coordinating contributors across engineering, quality assurance, product management, documentation, support, training, and other stakeholder groups to ensure alignment, visibility, and successful project execution. You will be given coaching and guidance to succeed and excel at your work by a team of project managers who are very familiar with the Genetec ecosystem and ways of working. Onboarding is well organized, offering training about our products as well as training on processes used, such as Kanban. This is a highly supportive group that thrives on everyone’s success. This role exists to prevent software teams that operate in silos from missing dependencies, misaligning timelines, and surfacing problems too late. You are the connective tissue between software engineering, quality assurance, product management, documentation, support, training, and stakeholder communication — ensuring that complex software initiatives move from concept to completion with clarity, accountability, and minimal friction.

Requirements

  • Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented project professional who thrives in software engineering environments.
  • Understanding of software engineering workflows—including Kanban, code review, quality assurance, regression testing, work item management, and cross-team coordination—well enough to track real progress, identify issues, and coordinate cross-functional project execution.
  • 2–5 years of project management or equivalent software project coordination experience.
  • Understanding of software engineering workflows and quality assurance cycles.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience with Team Foundation Server (TFS), Azure DevOps Server, Azure DevOps, or similar work item tracking tools.
  • Ability to influence cross-functionally without direct authority.
  • Fluent in French and English, both verbal and written (this role requires interaction with our international collaborators).

Nice To Haves

  • Software development and quality assurance experience.
  • Experience working with large-scale on-premises or client/server software products.
  • Knowledge of source control concepts such as Git, builds, merges, and version branching concepts.
  • Experience improving project dashboards, reporting practices, work item hygiene, or project management standards.

Responsibilities

  • Track software development initiatives from planning and analysis through implementation, validation, and customer readiness.
  • Support project planning activities, ensuring inputs, decisions, deliverables, and timelines are clearly tracked and managed.
  • Maintain structured project artifacts such as plans, dashboards, decision logs, action trackers, and status information.
  • Map cross-team dependencies across software development, quality assurance, product management, documentation, support, and training. Identify misalignment proactively.
  • Surface and track project risks; ensure technical owners define mitigation paths while maintaining visibility on schedule and dependency impacts.
  • Engage with developers, QA, and team leads to translate technical updates into actionable project insights.
  • Track project health, Kanban flow metrics, quality indicators, work item status, and other workflow signals.
  • Support continuous improvement of engineering workflows, tools, project tracking, and coordination practices.
  • Facilitate communication across engineering, QA, product management, documentation, support, training, and other stakeholder groups.
  • Ensure clarity of scope, progress, risks, dependencies, blockers, and decisions across active workstreams.
  • Prepare concise, accurate stakeholder updates.
  • Maintain dashboards that reflect project progress, active risks, dependencies, and quality signals.
  • Provide structured inputs to leadership for decision-making.
