About The Position

Reporting to the Vice President for Community Engagement & Lifelong Success, the Senior Project Manager serves as a key member of the CELS Senior Leadership Team. This role ensures the division's organizational effectiveness by guiding operational processes, overseeing communications, and leading cross-divisional initiatives that align units such as Beyond Barnard, Lifelong Learning Initiatives, and the Francine LeFrak Center. The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the execution of major annual programs, division-wide communications strategies, budget planning, data measurement, and other initiatives and needs as defined by the CELS Senior Team. Additionally, this role provides high-level administrative leadership, defining and implementing processes for effective administration across the division.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree required
5+ years of experience in a higher education administration role
Experience in program development and budget management
Strong knowledge of current issues in higher education
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
Exceptional proficiency in managing multiple simultaneous tasks with a range of stakeholders
Excellent written and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with diverse on- and off-campus stakeholders.
Facility with Qualtrics or other survey software.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a combination of higher education and a field outside of higher ed is a plus.
Demonstrated experience in program development, budget management, and staff supervision (professional and/or student staff).
Familiarity with a liberal arts college environment.

Responsibilities

Budget Oversight: Manage the annual budget process and ongoing tracking to ensure compliance with College policies and procedures.
Operational Leadership: Create and manage Division-wide policy manuals and documentation to ensure operational consistency. Organize office procedures, including onboarding checklists, key distribution, and software access.
Administrative Strategy: continuously monitor and iterate administrative processes to meet the changing needs of a dynamic division. Provide administrative support to the VP and Executive Directors.
Facilities & Vendor Management: Serve as coordinator on all space management and technology needs , including negotiating contracts with external vendors in collaboration with the Office of General Counsel.
Executive Support: support the senior leadership team of the Division of Community Engagement & Lifelong Success
Communications Strategy: Serve as the division’s expert on best practices in communications. Mobilize multiple platforms (social media, marketing emails, individual outreach) to reach student and alumnae users.
Content Management: Oversee central coordination of newsletter writing and editing (including the Beyond Barnard and Wellness e-newsletters), website content management, and social content.
Stakeholder Reporting: Oversee the creation of collateral reporting on CELS work to faculty, alumnae, the Board of Trustees, and other stakeholders. Represent Divisional leadership in communication with external partners (e.g., Lifelong Success Advisory Council, etc.).
Program Evaluation: Lead the annual and quarterly measurement of program effectiveness through First Destination surveys and collaborations with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness.
Data Integrity: Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to define success metrics. Track and organize data for use in communications about student/alumnae success.
Systems Management: Manage virtual platforms that facilitate access to CELS resources and collaborate with IT staff to ensure data integrity. Manage internal review processes of Divisional programming.
Event Leadership: Provide operational oversight for major division-wide events, including the Opportunities Conference, Summer Research Institute Poster Session, and Open House events.
Special Initiatives: Plan and execute divisional staff retreats, strategy sessions, and student engagement initiatives.
Process Support: Support staff on the management of candidate materials for external processes (e.g., Pre-Health Committee Letters, 4+1 Pathway applications).
Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and manage CELS administrative support staff and student employees.
Student Employment: Create student employee schedules, approve timesheets, and delegate responsibilities.
