About The Position

The Aviation Project Manager is responsible for managing airport capital improvement, facility, and infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction and closeout. This role oversees project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, quality, and stakeholder coordination to ensure successful project delivery within an active airport environment. The Aviation Project Manager serves as the primary liaison between airport clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams, while providing leadership and oversight for civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), and building systems projects. The ideal candidate possesses strong project management, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining compliance with airport standards, safety requirements, and client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management or related field of study required.
  • PMP Certification
  • 10+ years’ project management experience in design, architecture, construction, or related industry.

Responsibilities

  • Manage aviation facility, infrastructure, and capital improvement projects through all phases of planning, design, procurement, construction, and closeout.
  • Analyze project scope, review plans and specifications, and coordinate project execution to ensure alignment with client objectives, airport requirements, and project goals.
  • Lead multidisciplinary project teams, including engineering, construction, and MEP professionals, to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards.
  • Monitor and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, risks, and resource allocation throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with airport stakeholders, consultants, contractors, regulatory agencies, and operations personnel to support successful project delivery in an active airport environment.
  • Review construction documents, technical specifications, cost estimates, schedules, and project deliverables for accuracy, completeness, and constructability.
  • Oversee project activities involving mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), HVAC, fire protection, building automation systems (BAS), and other critical facility systems.
  • Prepare and present project status reports, budget updates, schedule analyses, and risk assessments to clients and leadership.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between clients, airport authorities, contractors, and project teams to facilitate communication and issue resolution.
  • Support procurement efforts, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Qualifications (SOQs), contractor selection, and contract administration activities.
  • Conduct site visits and field observations to monitor project progress, quality, safety, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Attend client, stakeholder, and project meetings and provide leadership, guidance, and project updates.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
