About The Position

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients. The ability and willingness to travel extensively to assess and evaluate suppliers, ranking them from good to bad based on performance, quality, and reliability. The successful candidate will be a seasoned professional with a unique blend of technical expertise, business acumen, and interpersonal skills. They will be responsible for leveraging their knowledge and experience to drive operational excellence, optimize supplier relationships, and contribute to the company's overall success.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of relevant exempt experience; Master’s Degree and 4 year of relevant professional experience
  • NNS Apprentice School graduate
  • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
  • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
  • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
  • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
  • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience

Nice To Haves

  • Machine Shop Experience and Process Familiarity: A strong foundation in machine shop operations, including hands-on experience with various machining processes and equipment.
  • Technical Understanding of Machining: The ability to comprehend the technical aspects of machining, going beyond mere interpretation of drawings and blueprints.
  • Supplier Knowledge and Assessment: Experience with supplier visits, understanding of supplier capabilities, crane capacities, and shop/management culture.
  • Risk Management and ROI Analysis: A solid understanding of risk vs. ROI, enabling informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Management: Familiarity with equipment maintenance programs, ensuring optimal performance and minimizing downtime.
