We are looking to hire an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor at our Decatur, AL location.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Minimum of 1 year machining experience
Nice To Haves
- 2 to 5 years of related experience
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and assign work within the department, ensuring projects are completed timely, cost effectively and within quality standards.
- Quote machining and fabrication jobs for external customers.
- Work with local department managers to schedule and prioritize machining and fabrication activities in support of the caster repair department.
- Maintain and provide a formal interface internally and externally.
- Ensure EH&S and Quality objectives are reached and maintained in the department.
- Manage a team of hourly machinists and fabricators, including training, coaching, development activities, performance reviews, merit planning, corrective actions, hiring and termination decisions.
- Support and enable effective communications among the team.
- Enforce Company procedures and policies.
- Ensure completion of operational documentation for assigned group, such as travelers, map sheets, job router, work requests to other departments, etc.
- Ensure completion of safety documentation for assigned group, such as first reports of injury, environmental mishaps, JSA’s, etc.
