Solar Turbines•Channelview, TX
•$29 - $43

About The Position

The Project Machine Operator A sets up and operates machine tools independently, performing operations within the equipment’s capacity. The operator uses prints, programs, sketches, and oral or written instructions to determine machining sequences, dimensions and tolerances, tooling, workholding and alignment methods, and feeds and speeds. The role includes making machine adjustments, checking work with precision measuring instruments and gauges, pre-setting or sharpening cutting tools as needed, requesting shop supplies or replacement parts, and setting up and operating machining equipment in the machine shop or assigned area. For this position, the operator sets up and operates a U5 CNC Milling Machine to machine large fabricated components and weldments to print requirements. The work includes verifying work offsets, selecting tooling, aligning fixtures, performing milling and related operations, inspecting parts, and adjusting machine offsets or programs as needed to meet quality standards. The operator also troubleshoots machining, tooling, and program issues to support production flow.
