This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines. You will be part of the Innovation and Delivery Team reporting to the Director of Property Asset Management, within T&I. This role is about keeping building assets reliable, getting work done, and delivering projects. You’re responsible for making sure building systems are maintained properly and that Maintenance & Repair projects are planned and executed without disrupting core operations, with specific focus on the Toronto Broadcasting Centre. You will be a key point of expertise and a liaison for internal clients and stakeholders and external collaborators across the Country. The position includes leading, guiding and supporting the Value Management Delivery Office (VMDO) teams. You will be responsible for ensuring projects meet design specifications, budgets, and schedules. This includes authorizing financial approvals under the Delegation of financial authority (DFA), negotiating vendor proposals, and supervising contractors to maintain quality control. Additionally, you will bridge the gap between day-to-day maintenance and capital work by coaching internal and external teams to ensure long-term operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience working with a project management team and be familiar with both project work streams (Agile & Waterfall).
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and ability to conduct several projects at once.
  • Experience with facility operations, building systems, or infrastructure projects.
  • Understanding of how buildings operate on a day-to-day basis.
  • Comfortable working in a live environment and hands-on approach.
  • Ability to coordinate people and move things along with clear, straightforward communication.
  • Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (architecture, engineering, or related field) or a combination of education, training and professional with work experience deemed to be equivalent.
  • 7-years of professional experience in project related work and/or facility management or a combination of both.
  • Proficient in MS Office and AutoCAD, Google Suite.
  • Significant recent experience in the corporate construction sector.
  • Experience and knowledge of building infrastructure systems, and large commercial buildings.
  • Ability to collaborate with Engineering department(s), Finance & Procurement in and key stakeholders to ensure project implementation success.
  • Good judgment, sense of initiative, self-reliance, critical thinking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including facilitation skills along with experience in developing and delivering professional presentations to stakeholders.
  • Strong decision-making and judgment skills; decisions impact service levels and regulatory compliance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge and or familiarity of the broadcasting industry, radio programming and production, digital platforms, their content and industry trends considered an asset.
  • French Bilingualism is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure project scopes reflect real site conditions and coordinate work within active buildings to manage phasing and minimize downtime.
  • Provide regular updates regarding on-going project responsibilities and oversight of our infrastructure projects.
  • Manage projects from start through the successful completion, ensuring all deliverables meet our organizational standards.
  • Actively participate in the coordination of the capital infrastructure program.
  • Develop recommendations and present detailed justifications to the Portfolio Council Committee to ensure our investments are prioritized effectively.
  • Ensure that all project scopes accurately reflect current site conditions.
  • Collaborate and coordinate the work with our buildings operator to manage phasing and minimize any potential downtime for our teams and clients.
  • Review technical studies, designs, and drawings to ensure alignment with operational requirements and lifecycle objectives.
  • Act as the primary link between project management teams, facilities operators, consultants, and contractors.
  • Identify recurring risks and ensure a smooth handover from project completion back to operations.
  • Support capital forecasting and monitor project costs, changes, and timelines to ensure milestones are met.
