The Project Labor Compliance Specialist administers day-to-day labor compliance for renewable-energy construction projects and serves as a field-facing liaison between project teams, subcontractors, and the internal compliance team. The role supports Inflation Reduction Act prevailing-wage requirements, Davis-Bacon and related labor standards, certified payroll review, job-classification mapping, documentation readiness, and resolution of project-level compliance issues. It helps keep projects audit-ready throughout their lifecycle by working with project managers, superintendents, foremen, payroll, finance, external consultants, and trade partners to implement workflows, identify discrepancies, communicate requirements, and close corrective actions. Apprenticeship responsibilities are limited to confirming that individuals identified as apprentices have current registration or other required eligibility documentation; the role does not own apprentice utilization, ratio, or labor-hour tracking. The Specialist administers prevailing-wage compliance processes; reviews project contracts, owner requirements, wage determinations, classifications, wage rates, fringe benefits, overtime treatment, and approved conformances; and maintains project-specific requirements, records, findings, and corrective-action status. The position coordinates weekly certified payroll collection and review, checks reports and Statements of Compliance for completeness and consistency, compares classifications with work performed and site records, and follows discrepancies through correction. It also confirms apprentice eligibility documentation and maintains organized records for internal review, owner requests, tax-credit diligence, and audits. The position serves as a field-facing contact, coordinates compliance workflows with project schedules and site operations, provides practical guidance to site teams and subcontractors, and visits project sites as needed. It prepares compliance summaries and audit documentation, supports owner and auditor inquiries, coordinates with internal departments and external stakeholders, tracks open requests, and escalates unresolved or material risks. The Specialist also develops and improves procedures, checklists, templates, software workflows, and standard operating procedures, and stays informed about relevant labor-compliance requirements. The position is remote, with travel to active project sites of up to approximately 50% depending on project needs. Work may take place in office, remote, and active construction-site settings, with variable noise and weather conditions. Site safety requirements and required personal protective equipment must be followed; occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds may be required. The role is full-time and exempt, with a salary range of $75,000–$95,000 per year.
