About The Position

We are seeking a Project Forester to manage our current forest planning and operations business lines. This role emphasizes project management and mentorship over senior technical work. You will be responsible for developing project plans, managing timelines, logistics, safety, budgets, and resource allocations. A significant part of your role will involve creating, growing, and mentoring your team. Additionally, you will assist with new business development initiatives and the expansion of existing business lines, suiting someone with an entrepreneurial spirit and a diverse background in forest planning and operations. You will oversee projects ranging from multiphase layout and engineering to wildfire planning and operational supervision, working with major Licensees and various government departments.

Requirements

  • Must be RPF (Registered Professional Forester) with experience managing multiple medium to large forest engineering contracts, or similar (harvesting or roads supervision program).
  • Successfully managed, mentored, and grown small (~10 people) teams.
  • At least 5-10 years practicing forestry in BC.
  • Tactical timber planning and road construction, maintenance, and harvesting supervision experience.
  • Experience developing and maintaining long-term business relationships with indigenous governments.
  • Experience with full tenure management for large or small area-based tenures.

Nice To Haves

  • Project management certification (PMP) would be beneficial (but not a must have).

Responsibilities

  • Project manage current forest planning and operations business lines.

  • Mentor and grow the team, both in the office and in the field.
