About The Position

Wallace Electric Company is actively seeking an "Accomplished" AND "Results-Driven" Project Executive for their operations team. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record and stable employment history. The Project Executive is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, financial performance, and operational execution of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects. This role oversees multiple projects and project teams, ensuring successful delivery of electrical systems while maintaining safety, quality, schedule, client satisfaction, and profitability goals. The Project Executive serves as the primary liaison between clients, company leadership, project managers, field operations, and subcontractors throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution. Will substitute degree for experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and industry experience considered.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in commercial and industrial electrical construction.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing multiple projects and project teams.
  • Demonstrated success managing large-scale electrical projects ranging from $5M to $100M+.
  • Experience with commercial and industrial facilities, power distribution systems, data centers, healthcare, and automotive preferred.
  • Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, NEC requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Knowledge of project scheduling software, construction management platforms, and financial reporting systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in commercial and industrial electrical construction, including leadership responsibility for multiple concurrent projects.
  • Proven experience managing electrical construction portfolios with annual revenues exceeding $50 million.
  • Demonstrated success overseeing large-scale projects valued at $25M-$100M+.
  • Experience managing a diverse portfolio of work, which includes automotive, retail, education, and mission critical projects like data centers and healthcare facilities.
  • Strong understanding of electrical power distribution systems, medium-voltage installations, controls, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
  • Advanced knowledge of project financial management, forecasting, cost controls, earned value management, and contract administration.
  • Experience with Design-Build, Design-Assist, and traditional bid-build project delivery methods.
  • Proven track record of developing and mentoring Project Managers, Estimators, and field leadership personnel.
  • Strong relationships within the commercial and industrial construction market, including owners, engineers, consultants, and general contractors.
  • Experience negotiating contracts, managing claims, resolving disputes, and mitigating project risks.
  • Proficiency with industry software platforms such as Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive business growth through client retention, repeat business, and strategic development initiatives.
  • Exceptional communication, leadership, presentation, and executive-level relationship management skills.
  • Experience leading projects in highly regulated environments requiring strict safety, quality, and operational standards.
  • Advanced training in project controls, scheduling, contract administration, or executive leadership.
  • Demonstrated success in developing high-performing project teams and maintaining long-term client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide executive oversight for multiple commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Lead and mentor Project Managers, Estimators, Superintendents, Leads/Foremen and support staff.
  • Establish project execution strategies and operational plans to achieve company objectives.
  • Foster a culture of safety, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Support workforce planning, resource allocation, and staffing requirements.
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, procurement, execution, and closeout activities.
  • Monitor project milestones, productivity, labor performance, and material management.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Review and approve project budgets, forecasts, change orders, and major purchasing decisions.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and develop corrective action plans when necessary.
  • Maintain overall responsibility for project profitability and financial performance.
  • Review monthly financial reports, cost projections, cash flow, and earned value metrics.
  • Lead project forecasting and budget management processes.
  • Ensure proper billing, collections, and contract compliance.
  • Drive cost-control initiatives and maximize project margins.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, developers, general contractors, engineers, architects, and key stakeholders.
  • Serve as the executive point of contact for strategic customers and major projects.
  • Participate in client presentations, project interviews, and contract negotiations.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat business and market expansion.
  • Support business development efforts and strategic growth initiatives.
  • Review project contracts, specifications, and terms and conditions.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
  • Oversee change management processes, claims resolution, and dispute mitigation.
