About The Position

The Project Engineer will be responsible for a variety of tasks to support assigned projects, including jobsite layout, documentation preparation, material procurement, change order management, scheduling, cost tracking, and quality control. This role requires close collaboration with customers, crews, office staff, and accounting, as well as proficiency in Foundation Accounting Software and CAD.

Requirements

  • BS degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • Minimum 2 years of experience
  • Excellent computer skills and extensive knowledge of Word, Excel, MS Project
  • Effective analytical, communicating, writing and organizational skills.
  • Be a proactive, organized, self-starter and be able to manage workload and priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Be available and responsive off shift/nights/weekends as needed.
  • Perform jobsite layout including survey functions.
  • Prepare and provide organized and complete project documentation to superintendents, foremen and PM's for assigned projects.
  • Prepare submittals.
  • Work closely and effectively with customers, crews, office, shop, and accounting.
  • Perform utility locates and updates.
  • Manage material procurement, including obtaining quotes, purchase orders, and order coordination.
  • Attend progress meetings and record meeting minutes.
  • Manage and prepare change orders.
  • Perform scheduling, schedule preparation, and updates.
  • Prepare daily/weekly/monthly progress reports and weekly reports as required.
  • Manage physical and electronic document control.
  • Track costs and manage project invoicing, including preparation of T&M billings and claims.
  • Utilize Foundation Accounting Software job cost, payroll, and T&M billing proficiently.
  • Create CAD and other technical drawings as required.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Understand plans and specifications and ensure work is in compliance with QC standards.
  • Maintain a record set of contract documents on the jobsite as required.
  • Maintain current inventory of equipment and material onsite.
