About The Position

Cowtown Materials, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer in Fort Worth, TX. This role involves identifying potential jobs and customers, building relationships, and closing bid work. The Project Engineer will work with the general line sales team, facilitate leads through various channels, and review specifications to inform management of market conditions. Responsibilities include preparing submittals and shop drawings, performing site visits, investigating damages and resolving delays, and preparing specialty product proposals. The role also involves cost estimation, preparing various types of estimates for pre-construction, and managing closed project work from order through installation. The Project Engineer will act as a liaison to ensure quality installation and increase company sales and margin dollars on specialty ceiling products. Domestic travel of 10% is required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • 18 months of experience in Project Management or Estimating occupation
  • 18 months of experience with building and construction industry and business practices
  • 18 months of experience with drawings, specifications, and blueprint plans
  • 18 months of experience with CAD and Revit – Computer Aided Design Software
  • 12 months of experience in Sales and Marketing within building industry
  • 12 months of experience in Cost Estimation
  • 12 months of experience with Quantity Take-off
  • 12 months of experience with Bluebeam - Quantity Take-off Software or similar software
  • 12 months of experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) – Quantity Take-off Software
  • 12 months of experience with Dodge Data, ISqft, Construct Connect - Bidding Platforms

Responsibilities

  • Identify potential jobs and customers, build relationships, and close bid work.
  • Work with the current general line sales team to close jobs.
  • Facilitate leads through General Contractors, End Users, and Institutions.
  • Review specifications to ensure management is informed of market conditions and means to better our door division.
  • Prepare all submittals and shop drawings for approval by the owner and architect.
  • Perform site visits as needed to oversee work and advise field personnel to help make sure proper construction procedures are being followed.
  • Investigate damages, accidents or loss of materials and work with insurance and vendors to reverse schedule delays.
  • Prepare and submit specialty product proposals for sales staff and their customers.
  • Prepare proposals by conducting take-offs and performing cost estimation accurately and timely.
  • Prepare conceptual cost estimates, value engineering reports, budgetary and feasibility estimates for pre-construction processes.
  • Manage closed project work from order through installation.
  • Act as a liaison between vendors, purchasers, salesmen, and contractors to ensure a quality installation and to increase company sales/margin dollars on specialty ceiling products.
