About The Position

Emerson is seeking experienced Project Engineers to join their Power & Water Solutions business, supporting a wide range of North American projects. This position will be located at their Pittsburgh, PA, Cranberry Woods Campus. Emerson helps customers in the world’s most critical industries solve complex challenges that shape modern life. Power & Water Solutions is an industry-leading automation and controls organization supporting renewable energy, conventional power generation, and water and wastewater infrastructure. Their work focuses on modernizing and upgrading control systems to improve reliability, sustainability, and long-term performance of critical infrastructure across North America. In this role, the Project Engineer will contribute to the delivery of customized automation and control solutions using modern software and hardware platforms, including virtualization, simulation, and remote support technologies. They will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, engage with customers, and apply their experience to projects across different parts of the organization, based on business needs and individual strengths.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a technical related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in an automation, technical, or project-engineering based role
  • Working knowledge of engineering fundamentals, system design concepts, and structured problem-solving approaches
  • Experience contributing to projects in industrial, infrastructure, energy, or technology-driven environments
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and disciplines
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States, Sponsorship will not be provided now and in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with control systems, automation platforms, or industrial software solutions
  • Exposure to power generation, renewable energy, water, or wastewater industries
  • Experience supporting projects through multiple phases, from design to implementation or support
  • Comfort presenting technical information to varied audiences, including peers, project teams, or customers
  • Familiarity with simulation tools, virtualization technologies, or remote support environments

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the execution of automation and control system projects across power generation and water/wastewater applications
  • Collaborate with project teams, engineering peers, and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality technical solutions
  • Apply engineering principles to support system design, configuration, testing, and implementation activities
  • Support project lifecycle activities, including documentation, reviews, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Participate in knowledge sharing, process improvement initiatives, and technical collaboration across North American teams
  • Adapt to different project environments and business needs as part of a flexible, growth-oriented project organization
