About The Position

This role is for an Early Career Field Service Engineer within Emerson's Power & Water Solutions division. The position focuses on supporting critical infrastructure such as power generation and water treatment facilities across North America. The engineer will gain hands-on experience in the field, commissioning automation systems, troubleshooting technical issues, and contributing to the successful execution of critical infrastructure projects. The role involves travel and offers structured training, mentorship, and exposure to advanced technologies like virtualization, simulation, and remote support platforms to build a strong engineering career foundation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering fundamentals, design principles, and problem-solving methodologies.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a passion for troubleshooting technical challenges.
  • Curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 80% as required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance of advanced automation and control systems at customer sites.
  • Work directly with customers to troubleshoot technical challenges and deliver effective solutions.
  • Learn industry-leading technologies through hands-on field experience and mentorship from experienced engineers.
  • Assist with system testing, quality assurance activities, and performance evaluations.
  • Provide on-site and remote support during project implementation and system upgrades.
  • Participate in customer training sessions and Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs).
  • Collaborate with project teams, contractors, and customers to ensure successful project execution.
  • Develop strong technical, problem-solving, and customer relationship skills through real-world experience.
  • Contribute to the improvement of operational procedures, field documentation, and best practices.
  • Build a deep understanding of critical infrastructure systems that support power generation and water treatment operations.
