MWH is currently seeking a qualified Project Engineer to support critical water treatment plant (WTP) construction projects in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. The selected individual will provide technical support to project management and project supervision staff to ensure construction work is performed efficiently, on schedule and in accordance with company policy and engineering standards. This role involves assisting with subcontractor procurement and management, package development, construction layout, material and equipment procurement, submittal review, manpower scheduling, quantity takeoffs, labor productivity reporting, document controls, material purchases, deliveries and inventory, and project controls. The Project Engineer will perform ongoing quality inspections, verify compliance with permits, codes, drawings, and specifications, and prepare and disseminate required documentation. They will also prepare drawings and sketches, prepare/facilitate work method statements, research resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, initiate RFIs, establish and implement office procedures for contract administration, and implement project controls for correspondence and document record keeping. Additionally, the role includes reviewing incoming correspondence, recording meeting minutes, processing pay applications, reviewing project schedules, and producing progress reports. The Project Engineer will ensure project management systems are up-to-date, assist with claim analysis and change order preparation, and support estimating staff. Safety is paramount, and the individual must work in a manner that ensures personal safety and that of fellow employees by following health and safety guidelines. The role also involves assisting in resolving construction problems and performing additional assignments as directed by a supervisor.
