About The Position

Field AI is seeking a hands-on Project Engineer to lead and coordinate the field deployment of robotic systems. This role involves managing the entire deployment lifecycle, from initial planning through execution, on-site support, and post-deployment follow-up. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management and operational execution skills, comfortable working in fast-paced, real-world field environments. This position requires coordinating engineering, operations, logistics, and customer stakeholders to ensure timely and detailed deployments. Experience in robotics, hardware systems, field testing, or startup environments is highly preferred, particularly in deploying complex technology outside of a lab setting to customer sites. The role focuses on driving successful deployments through robust project management, logistics coordination, and clear cross-team communication. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations, Business, or a related field
2–4 years of experience in project management, field operations, or similar roles
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
Experience using Jira (or similar project management tools)
Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams
High level of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple projects in fast-paced environments
Willingness to travel frequently and work on-site as needed
Experience managing equipment logistics, shipping, and inventory tracking
Ability to coordinate deployment schedules, travel, and site readiness
Strong problem-solving skills in time-sensitive, real-world scenarios
Comfortable adapting to changing field conditions and priorities

Exposure to robotics, hardware systems, or field testing environments
Basic technical understanding of sensors, systems, or data collection workflows
Experience in customer-facing or field deployment roles

Responsibilities

Own and manage field deployments from planning through execution and completion
Coordinate cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, and customers) to ensure smooth delivery
Build and track project plans, timelines, and milestones
Use Jira (or similar tools) to manage tasks, issues, and workflows
Drive accountability across stakeholders and ensure deadlines are met
Coordinate logistics including shipping, equipment readiness, and site setup
Act as the primary on-site or customer-facing point of contact during deployments
Identify risks early and proactively resolve or escalate issues
Document deployment outcomes, issues, and lessons learned
Continuously improve operational processes and deployment efficiency
