Project Engineer - Intern
About The Position
Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer Intern to work in its corporate office in Fort Myers, Florida. The intern supports the Project Engineer and Project Manager with planning, organization, and completion of projects within an assigned area of responsibility. Duties may include reviewing project plans and contractor bids, maintaining a safe and clean working environment, data entry, and assisting with the Project Manager’s or Project Engineer’s daily tasks. Wharton-Smith is a general contractor specializing in water treatment, municipal, education, entertainment, and hospitality projects.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with and assist the Project Engineer and Project Manager with planning, organization, and completion of projects within an assigned area of responsibility.
- Review project plans and confer with management.
- Review bids from contractors.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
- Perform data entry.
- Assist the Project Manager or Project Engineer with daily tasks and duties.
