Project Engineer Internship
About The Position
The Blooming Glen Contractors Water and Wastewater Services Division located in Skippack, PA, is searching for the ideal project engineer intern to join its team! Candidates must be self-motivated, organized, competent, and professional individuals. The new team member will be creating 3D Solidworks models and detailed layout drawings based on project contract drawings, creating drawings for the in-house fabrication shop, laser scanning new and existing sites for as-built dimensions, and 3D printing scale models of projects for Project Engineers and Owners. Layouts will be created from a combination of pre-made 3D library models and new 3D models as needed. Drawings will include a detailed bill of materials, used for purchase orders and construction assistance. The Project Engineer will work closely with project managers, estimators and foremen from pre-bid through project completion. Other responsibilities include attending weekly project meetings and occasional trade shows. Project site visits will be required intermittently, as needed for assessing as-build conditions before and throughout projects.
Requirements
- Earned or pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Project Engineering from an accredited university
- Proficient use of Solidworks or other 3D CAD software (CSWA/CSWP preferred)
- Problem solving
- Strong computer skills
- Independent work ethic
- Detail oriented
Nice To Haves
- Basic knowledge of 3D Laser scanning (Trimble Realworks) and 3D printing (Raise3D/IdeaMaker) technologies preferred
- Coursework or experience in water or wastewater industry preferred
