The Project Engineer will be a member of the Project Engineering Team reporting to the Engineering Manager. The Project Engineer is responsible for a wide range of engineering functions involving the design, development, and testing of electro-mechanical products. Duties include layout, design, assembly, and testing of working models; setup and layout of test procedures; evaluation of test results; preparation of reports, etc. Uses CAD software (Solidworks) to document new designs and incorporate changes to existing product designs. Research vendor-provided solutions for incorporation into designs. Checks completed work of self and other engineers for accuracy. May occasionally make trips to customer locations to resolve engineering problems. Confer with other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or provide technical information. Works with production on implementation of new products. Collaborates with the Project Engineering team as well as Sales, Marketing, and Operations Departments, and others on engineering matters of mutual concern. Where appropriate, proposes ways and means to improve operating procedures. Provides technical assistance in documenting engineering changes and creating manufacturing work instructions. Provides hands on support to engineering prototype testing and development when required. Keeps abreast of trends and improvements in the field of engineering and manufacturing through appropriate papers, publications, and outside affiliations.
