About The Position

This position is part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP) at RTX, a global leader in aerospace and defense. The EDP is designed to provide participants with three to four rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities. Participants will learn how project engineering integrates technical, schedule, cost, and risk elements for successful program execution. They will gain exposure to system engineering workflows, configuration management, and cross-functional coordination, as well as experience with RTX project management tools, earned-value concepts, and requirements tracking. Opportunities for company-provided training in project management software or engineering processes may also be available.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with project, engineering, or technical coursework involving planning, data analysis, or team-based design work.
  • Experience with organizing information, tracking tasks, and communicating with cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with tools such as Excel, MATLAB, Python, MS Project, Jira, or similar.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support project engineering activities across planning, execution, and delivery phases.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining project schedules, risk registers, and action item trackers.
  • Coordinate with engineering, operations, supply chain, and program management to ensure technical and schedule alignment.
  • Prepare and update technical documents, status reports, and presentations for internal reviews.
  • Help track requirements, configuration changes, and verification activities throughout the project lifecycle.
