About The Position

As a Project Engineer I at Pratt & Whitney, you will support activities and technologies related to commercial and military gas turbine hardware. Hardware responsibilities include components found in the Fan, Low Pressure Compressor and High-Pressure Compressor. This position is part of our Engineering Development Program (EDP), where participants complete three to four assignments to build technical breadth and leadership abilities before graduating from the program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by start date.
  • Experience with project, engineering, or technical coursework involving planning, data analysis, or team-based design work.
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access certain necessary systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in aerospace or defense industries.
  • Experience building interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
  • Experience and understanding of project management and planning.
  • Experience with leveraging teams across organizations to accomplish goals.
  • Proficient with MS office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Project).
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development of project plans, meet/maintain schedules and budgets, track progress, identify, recommend and resolve obstacles to minimize disruption to project schedules to ensure smooth project operations; forecast project revenues, monitor costs and re-estimates project costs to maximize project profitability and ensure business targets are met.
  • Analyze data gathered and develop solutions or alternative methods of proceeding to optimize performance and increase efficiency of work.
  • Facilitate project tasks with the various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Coordinates with other functional organizations.
  • Identify and address project problems, analyze data gathered, and develop solutions and recommendations to solve problems, meet deadlines and optimize performance.
  • Meet program schedules and budgets and maintain the integrated master schedules for project(s).
  • Travel up to 10%.
