About The Position

As a Project Engineer I, you will support the planning, coordination, and execution of the engineering aspects of product development projects. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones, managing schedules, and assisting with technical matters. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to grow their engineering careers by gaining hands-on experience in project management and technical coordination. The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
8+ years' experience in engineering roles.
Knowledge of engineering principles and practice.
Experience working in multi-disciplinary design and development team.
Strong leadership skills and confidence to delegate tasking.
Basic understanding of requirements management, system design, and integration.
U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment.

Nice To Haves

Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.
2-4 years relevant leadership and/or project management experience.
Familiarity with development and manufacture of electronics assemblies and systems.
Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA).
Experience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customers.
Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule management.
Past history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternative.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions and test procedure.
Experience or certification in International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) standard.
Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry.
Ability to Obtain & Maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance
Active Secret or Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance Preferred

Responsibilities

Lead in developing and maintaining project plans, schedules, and budgets.
Iterate and revise these plans, schedules, and budgets during project execution to account for changes.
Support preparation of technical review artifacts (PDR, CDR, TIMs, weekly IPT reviews).
Plan for and enforce creation and formal release of Technical Documentation and Program Artifacts
Review and enforce Configuration Management of Program technical data (drawings, specifications, test plans, test reports, etc.)
Identify and document potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation plans.
Maintain accurate project documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and meeting minutes.
Lead cross-functional teams to solve problems of varying levels of complexity; from simple one week projects to multi-year development efforts.
