About The Position

Pratt & Whitney is seeking a customer-focused, technically proficient Project Engineer to join the Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) Mature Commercial Engines (MCE) Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT). Compression Systems Engineering (CSE) is responsible for the design, development, integration, and certification of gas turbine engine systems supporting our commercial engine programs. This position is part of the Engineering Development Program (EDP), which includes rotations to build technical breadth and leadership abilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of Science degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major obtained by the start date
  • Demonstrated project management, communication and organizational skills.
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working in the Aerospace Industry
  • Demonstrated knowledge of gas turbine engines and specifically of compressor hardware components.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
  • Experience with MS Office, Teamcenter, SAP

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional engineering activities supporting Mature Commercial Engine programs
  • Collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, customers, partners and airframers to drive project execution, resolve technical challenges.
  • Deliver innovative solutions that meet program objectives for cost, schedule, quality, and performance.
  • Support various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) thorough coordination of engineering activities to meet task and technical requirements and budget for all relevant Compression Systems hardware related to Mature Commercial Engines (MCE)
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and execution plans, and prepare/present reports and technical content to IPT Lead, Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT) Leadership, & Pratt & Whitney Program and Executive management
  • Support the Integrated Product Team in performing risk assessments and developing mitigation plans
  • Collaborate with internal teams, Regulatory authorities, customers, partners, etc. as necessary to support hardware field investigations to drive root cause and recommend product improvements.
  • Travel up to 10% (Domestic and/or International)
