About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer I for our Richmond, VA office's Traffic Analysis & Planning Group. This role is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to begin their civil engineering career with a company that emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

Requirements

A bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree with coursework in transportation/traffic preferred.
EIT preferred.
Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis.
Conduct bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation.
Perform calculations using engineering formulas and skills, and utilize computers to solve problems.
Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
Complete design details and plan sets.
Perform field observation, inspection, and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff.
Collaborate with client staff and internal design teams as directed by senior engineering staff.
Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports that drive project success.
