Timmons Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer I candidate for their Richmond, VA office's Traffic Analysis & Planning Group. Requirements

• A bachelor’s or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree with coursework in transportation/traffic preferred.
• EIT preferred.
• Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis.
• Bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation.
• Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems.
• Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
• Work to complete design details and plan sets.
• Complete field observation, inspection and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff.
• Collaborate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff.
• Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports that drive project success.
