About The Position
Timmons Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer I for their Richmond, VA office's Traffic Analysis & Planning Group. This role is an entry-level position for individuals looking to start their civil engineering career with a company that emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree with coursework in transportation/traffic preferred.
- EIT preferred.
- Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred.

Responsibilities
- Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis.
- Conduct bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation.
- Perform calculations using engineering formulas and skills, and utilize computers to solve problems.
- Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
- Work to complete design details and plan sets.
- Complete field observation, inspection, and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff.
- Collaborate with client staff and internal design teams as directed by senior engineering staff.
- Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports that drive project success.
