About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer I candidate for their Raleigh, NC office's Traffic Analysis & Planning group. This role is an entry-level position for individuals ready to start their civil engineering career and offers opportunities for innovation, collaboration, and professional growth.

Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree with coursework in transportation/traffic preferred.
EIT preferred.
Knowledge of Traffic Analyses, Planning Studies, Traffic Safety, Traffic Forecasting, Traffic Signal Design, ITS Design, and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred.

Responsibilities

Complete operational analysis, corridor studies, traffic studies, innovative intersection implementation, traffic calming, and safety analysis.
Conduct bicycle/pedestrian/multi-modal feasibility, analysis, design, and implementation.
Perform calculations using engineering formulas and skills, and utilize computers to solve problems.
Research and prepare material specifications, installation guidelines, and inspection protocols.
Complete design details and plan sets.
Perform field observation, inspection, and data collection duties as directed by senior engineering staff.
Collaborate with client staff and internal design team as directed by senior engineering staff.
Contribute to cost estimates and technical reports that drive project success.
