About The Position

This role is for a Field Engineer focused on HVAC projects. The Field Engineer will be responsible for various administrative tasks, including timely submission of time and expense reports, maintaining job site documentation, and ensuring equipment is in good working order. In the field, the engineer will set up and operate surveying equipment, perform accurate layouts and as-builts, and collaborate with office staff and customers to resolve any layout or data issues. The role also emphasizes divisional support, encouraging teamwork, professionalism, and proactive problem-solving and business development.

Requirements

  • Ability to enter time for approval each Monday by 10:00 AM.
  • Ability to complete and sign Work Acknowledgements before leaving each Job.
  • Ability to update One-Note with job pictures each day on site.
  • Ability to maintain proper folder structures and file names in SharePoint.
  • Ability to ensure all devices remain actively synced with SharePoint.
  • Ability to file and submit expense reports and receipts monthly.
  • Responsibility for ensuring equipment is maintained, clean, and in operable condition.
  • Ability to work safely and in compliance with Bimble - Modigent’s Safety Policies.
  • Ability to access Job information from Trimble Tablet (T10).
  • Ability to set up Total Station for backsight or resection.
  • Ability to establish accurate control / setup on existing control.
  • Ability to complete accurate layout.
  • Ability to complete accurate and detailed as-builts when required.
  • Ability to work with Bimble Office Tech to ensure job data is formatted to Field Engineers Needs, identify System Layout Problems & Offer Solutions, and coordinate and collaborate to ensure projects success.
  • Ability to work with Customer to provide solutions when they are not readily present in the layout data.
  • Must have the ability to “solve problems”.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while interacting with customers.
  • Willingness to offer a practical solution to resolve a complaint.
  • Proactive in bringing on new talent and job opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Enter time for approval each Monday by 10:00 AM.
  • Complete and sign Work Acknowledgements before leaving each Job.
  • Update One-Note with job pictures each day on site.
  • Maintain proper folder structures and file names in SharePoint.
  • Ensure all devices remain actively synced with SharePoint.
  • File and submit expense reports and receipts monthly.
  • Ensure equipment is maintained, clean, and in operable condition, including Robotic Total Stations, service vans, Surface Pros, cellphones, data collectors, and all hand and surveying tools.
  • Start work based on customer needs, or no later than 8:00 AM.
  • Work safely and in compliance with Bimble - Modigent’s Safety Policies.
  • Access Job information from Trimble Tablet (T10).
  • Set up Total Station for backsight or resection using Standard Issue RTS873.
  • Establish accurate control / setup on existing control, spot-checking accuracy by hand measuring column lines and/or with reference shots.
  • Complete accurate layout, spot-checking layout with drawings and tape measure. Aim for an average production of ~200 points per day.
  • Complete accurate and detailed as-builts when required.
  • Work with Bimble Office Tech to ensure job data is formatted to Field Engineers Needs, identify System Layout Problems & Offer Solutions, and coordinate and collaborate to ensure projects success.
  • Work with Customer to provide solutions when they are not readily present in the layout data, demonstrating the ability to solve problems.
  • Look out for one another, prioritizing the Bimble Team.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while interacting with customers.
  • Offer practical solutions when complaining about an issue.
  • Be vigilant and proactive in bringing on new talent and job opportunities.
