Project Engineer, Engineer-in-Training (EIT)

About The Position

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience across the full project lifecycle -- working alongside experienced engineers and project managers while contributing to meaningful, community-focused projects. In this role, you will be exposed to both technical and project coordination responsibilities, supporting everything from early planning and design through to construction and close-out. You’ll play a key role in keeping projects organized, on track, and aligned with client expectations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related discipline)
  • 2–4 years of experience in consulting, infrastructure, or engineering projects
  • Registered as an EIT or eligible for registration with EGBC
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively within a team

Responsibilities

  • Support project planning, scheduling, and tracking of deliverables
  • Maintain project documentation including reports, drawings, and correspondence
  • Coordinate meetings, prepare agendas, and capture clear meeting minutes
  • Assist with tracking project budgets, costs, and progress against milestones
  • Support procurement activities including RFQs, bid evaluations, and contract documentation
  • Perform basic engineering calculations, analysis, and construction estimates under supervision
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing technical reports, specifications, and drawings
  • Coordinate with design teams to ensure accuracy and consistency of deliverables
  • Participate in site visits to gather data, verify conditions, and support construction activities
  • Provide support during construction, including inspections, progress tracking, and issue resolution
  • Assist with reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders
  • Liaise with internal teams, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Support communication of project updates, risks, and issues
  • Ensure work aligns with applicable codes, standards, and quality expectations
  • Contribute to quality assurance, quality control, and safety practices
