We employ more than 40,000 people in more than 90 countries. Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Engineer - Electrical for its Saint-Laurent, Canada location. This role is responsible for auxiliary power system design including system design, equipment sizing calculations, equipment specification, cable, and cable transit system design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and minimum of 5 years of related experience with 3 years’ experience within auxiliary power system design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Experience in Design, preparation and review of indoor and outdoor Electrical equipment layout & Cable design and routing for substations & utilities.
  • Experience in Design, preparation and review of sizing calculations and design documents for Auxiliary equipment's.
  • Professional engineering competence.
  • Team working skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed, 20% and more.
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in Canada.
  • P.Eng. designation is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ) preferred
  • Fluency in French preferred

Responsibilities

  • Technical coordination with internal and external stakeholders including suppliers.
  • Site engineering support, installation supervision and commissioning of auxiliary power system.
  • Design and manage auxiliary power systems including Auxiliary Transformers, Medium and Low voltage switchgears, Diesel Generator systems, Battery systems (chargers and UPS), control and power cables, and cable transit systems.
