About The Position
Iris Aero is developing SACOS, the Stratospheric Airborne Comprehensive Observing System, a solar-powered high altitude long endurance unmanned system. We have an opening for a Project Engineer/Crew Chief to take over the operations of our existing prototype aircraft, DAWN ONE. Iris Aero’s mission is to develop SACOS and provide transformative data and analytics in areas such as wildfire prediction, detection and tracking; glaciology; and solar radiation modification studies. The company is a spinout from Electra.aero and organized by John Langford. Langford created the Daedalus Project in 1985, Aurora Flight Sciences in 1989, and Electra.aero in 2020.
Requirements
- A minimum of a bachelor’s level degree in aerospace or related engineering disciplines is required.
Nice To Haves
- A&P experience is desirable but not required.
