About The Position

Turner Construction is hiring a Project EHS Manager to lead environmental health and safety on a single construction project in Denver. The role partners with project teams to enforce company EH&S programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements; lead safe-work-practice training; and guide teams in managing environmental and hazardous-material reports and conditions. This is not a remote or hybrid position and is based at a Turner office or project location. The manager assesses project safety practices and exposures, creates and implements plans to mitigate risk, promotes stronger safety awareness, and communicates performance expectations to project leadership and teams. The role includes reviewing environmental surveys and reports, interpreting applicable OSHA and EPA requirements, and guiding teams on environmental hazards and mitigation. It also develops project safety, health, and wellbeing programs, reports on project safety performance, and presents findings to stakeholders. The position manages and mentors the Project Safety team, supports employee development and performance management, and negotiates contracts for safety services and occupational health, wellness, and medical services. The role requires travel and access to reliable transportation. Work is regularly performed at construction sites, with occasional office work; site conditions include exposure to moving mechanical parts, heights, airborne particles, weather, and electrical-shock risks. The physical demands include climbing stairs and ladders, negotiating active construction areas, frequent mobility, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.

  • Management experience, including delegating and directing the work of others.
  • Professional verbal and written communication and effective presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills to build teams and professional relationships.
  • Ability to work in a non-structured environment and flexibly prioritize responsibilities for self and others.
  • Travel is required, and access to reliable transportation is required.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the role, including negotiating construction areas, climbing stairs and ladders, and lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally.
