About The Position

CAMH is undertaking a significant redevelopment of its 27-acre site, with the 4th and final phase currently underway. This Project Director role will specifically support the Phase 1D Research project, a Construction Management initiative with an anticipated occupancy in late 2026/early 2027. The project involves developing technical requirements, performance specifications, and managing the design, construction, and close-out stages. The role requires hands-on project management leadership, strong stakeholder management, and the ability to mitigate project risks. The Project Director will foster collaborative relationships with construction partners and service providers, conduct site reviews, manage contract administration, and oversee aspects like FF&E and Occupancy Planning within a matrix structure. This position is committed to supporting a diverse and collaborative workplace and is located at the Queen Street site.

  • Hands-on direct project experience is critical.
  • Ability to manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Experience in municipal planning processes is very desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on project management leadership during the planning, design, construction, and close-out stages of the Phase 1D Research Project.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure value for money is obtained and a collaborative management approach is undertaken with construction partners and service providers.
  • Develop technical requirements and performance specifications during the design phase.
  • Conduct site reviews during construction.
  • Review project schedules.
  • Provide monthly project status updates.
  • Manage contract administration.
  • Lead and attend meetings.
  • Conduct deficiency reviews and oversee rectification.
  • Oversee commissioning.
  • Manage contract closeout.
  • Have oversight of individuals on the project for whom they are not accountable, such as FF&E & Occupancy Planning.
