Finance IT's Data Management group provides the Strategic Data Management Solution that delivers a centralized data store providing One Version of the Truth for data for Finance and Risk. As an Approved Provisioning Point, our applications eliminates data duplication, reducing data collection and remediation costs. These applications are built on a modern technology stack, which can seamlessly grow with RBC’s data demands. The Project Delivery Manager is responsible for Delivery of multiple projects across Finance IT Data Delivery platform. Leading from the front, the project delivery manager executes planning, delivery and implementation of programs, projects, and deliverable in an Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, and iterative environment.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of Agile Project Delivery Management and/or Scrum Master experience which includes both waterfall and agile project on large transactional data processing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage high visible projects with third party vendors and significant technology components.
  • Having a strong presence, advanced communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proven Hands-on Experience of Agile Project Management workflows (milestones, critical paths, product & sprint backlogs, work back schedules, release burndown).
  • Advance hands on working experience in Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint and other related Project Management tools and methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components.
  • Experience working with Finance, Risk or Capital Market Projects with focus on highly transactional Data processing applications
  • Strong knowledge of the change management and risk management, working knowledge of Software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  • PMP Designation or Certified Scrum Master/Coach

Responsibilities

  • Own, lead, manage project/program delivery function for Finance IT Data delivery services group, deliver initiatives using appropriate methods, including Agile and Iterative Waterfall.
  • Ensure business goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frames, scope and budget.
  • Champion strong program governance and execution assurance processes, integrating project plans at a program level, refining as required and managing outcomes in line with the business objectives.
  • Communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes.
  • Report team progress and accomplishment up and across.
  • Facilitate status updates including project financials and running concurrent Agile/IWF projects in a fast-paced work environment, product demos and retrospectives.
  • Remove impediments to deliver outcomes and results through initiative-taking management of external dependencies, critical thinking/problem solving, and development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges.
  • Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues.
  • Facilitate and engage in analytical and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence.
  • Develop and manage the detailed schedule, identify early warning indicators, provide direction for early resolution of risks, issues, and clear escalation path for program committees.
  • Oversee financials and staffing levels to efficiently meet project delivery requirements and tracks value for effective decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners (e.g. Vendors, RBC IT teams, Product)
  • Build / present reporting for management level presentations.
  • Ensure the completion of risk assessments and the identification & execution of contingency Plans.
  • Coach the scrum team to apply appropriate processes to create successful products.
  • Establish strong working relationships across technical/business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners.
  • Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.
