About The Position

Global Functions Technology (GFT) is part of RBC’s Technology and Operations division. GFT collaborates with partners across the company to deliver innovative and transformative IT solutions for clients in Risk, Finance, HR, CAO, Audit, Legal, Compliance, Financial Crime, Capital Markets, Personal and Commercial Banking, and Wealth Management. GFT also leads the development of digital tools and platforms to enhance collaboration. The Finance IT Data Management group provides a Strategic Data Management Solution, a centralized data store offering a single version of the truth for Finance and Risk data. This solution eliminates data duplication and reduces costs, built on a modern technology stack. The Project Delivery Manager is responsible for the delivery of multiple projects across the Finance IT Data Delivery platform, executing planning, delivery, and implementation in Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, and iterative environments.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of Agile Project Delivery Management and/or Scrum Master experience which includes both waterfall and agile projects in a large transactional data processing environment.
  • Proven ability to manage high visibility projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components.
  • Having a strong presence, advanced communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Proven Hands-on Experience of Agile Project Management workflows (milestones, critical paths, product & sprint backlogs, work back schedules, release burndown).
  • Advanced hands-on working experience in Confluence, JIRA, SharePoint, and other related Project Management tools and methodologies.
  • Proven ability to manage projects with third-party vendors and significant technology components.
  • Experience working with Finance, Risk, or Capital Market Projects with a focus on highly transactional Data processing applications.
  • Strong knowledge of change management and risk management.
  • Working knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • PMP Designation or Certified Scrum Master/Coach.

Responsibilities

  • Own, lead, and manage the project/program delivery function for Finance IT Data delivery services group, delivering initiatives using appropriate methods, including Agile and Iterative Waterfall.
  • Ensure business goals and objectives are accomplished within approved time frames, scope, and budget.
  • Champion strong program governance and execution assurance processes, integrating project plans at a program level, refining as required, and managing outcomes in line with business objectives.
  • Communicate cross-functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes. Report team progress and accomplishments up and across.
  • Facilitate status updates including project financials and running concurrent Agile/IWF projects in a fast-paced work environment, product demos, and retrospectives.
  • Remove impediments to deliver outcomes and results through initiative-taking management of external dependencies, critical thinking/problem-solving, and development of new solutions or approaches to ongoing challenges.
  • Continuously seek to improve team performance by promoting joint accountability for results and solving productivity issues.
  • Facilitate and engage in analytical and technical conversations across platforms and multiple levels of influence.
  • Develop and manage the detailed schedule, identify early warning indicators, provide direction for early resolution of risks, issues, and clear escalation paths for program committees.
  • Oversee financials and staffing levels to efficiently meet project delivery requirements and track value for effective decision-making.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners (e.g., Vendors, RBC IT teams, Product).
  • Build/present reporting for management-level presentations.
  • Ensure the completion of risk assessments and the identification & execution of contingency plans.
  • Coach the scrum team to apply appropriate processes to create successful products.
  • Establish strong working relationships across technical/business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners.
  • Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.
