About The Position

The Patient, Family, Caregiver Experience (PFCE) Coordinator will be an integral member of the PFCE portfolio within the Department of Strategy & Transformation at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. This role aims to improve the experience of patients and families at The Princess Margaret by leveraging insights from patient feedback while coordinating various initiatives and translating those insights into measurable improvement. The coordinator is a highly organized individual with background and experience in supporting healthcare-related projects. Primary responsibilities include effective coordination and project planning as defined by portfolio priorities, implementation, documentation, monitoring and evaluation, support of the Patient Family Caregiver Experience Committee, and ongoing communication and strategic stakeholder/patient/caregiver engagement. This role will be in a hybrid work environment.

Requirements

  • At minimum, completion of a bachelors degree in health sciences, health administration, or recognized equivalent required.
  • Minimum 2 years experience in patient experience, quality improvement, project coordination, healthcare operations, program evaluation, or health services research.
  • Experience with qualitative and quantitative data, dashboards, and reporting tools.
  • Experience engaging directly with patients, caregivers, and families in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal, facilitation, and organizational skills required.
  • Excellent analytical, problem recognition and resolution skills required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree in a related field preferred.
  • Experience in oncology an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates end-to-end project management of multiple projects within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
  • Assists with quantitative and qualitative information collection, reporting, and distribution – including data entry and data visualization (Excel).
  • Liaises with all members of the team and committee/working groups to ensure project activities are coordinated.
  • Prepares and maintains project plans, reports, presentations, executive summaries, and other key documents required to meet project objectives.
  • Demonstrates appropriate decision-making when escalating and communicating issues during problem resolution/risk management.
  • Reviews the analysis, interpretation, and reporting of information to ensure data quality/accuracy, as required.
  • Review and synthesize qualitative and quantitative patient reported experience metrics (PREMS) and other related feedback to support evidence-informed decisions and priority-setting.
  • Provide coordination support for the Patient Family Caregiver Experience Committee, including liaising with patient partners who are on the Committee.
  • Conduct patient follow up as necessary with empathy, professionalism, compassion, and discretion.
  • Advise the team to ensure patient feedback is representative of the populations we serve to enhance equity.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities for quality and experience improvement initiatives using available data and insights.
  • Demonstrates strong writing and critical thinking skills.
  • Promotes and fosters teamwork to achieve group goals and maintain partnerships across the institution.
  • Solution-oriented/outcome-driven with a willingness to take initiative, coordinate tasks, and deliver high-quality outputs.
  • Demonstrates ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail and manage competing priorities.
  • Performs cross-functional and/or other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested.
  • Works in compliance of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and its regulations, reporting hazards, deficiencies and contravention’s of the Act, in a timely manner.
