Reporting to the Manager, Building Assets, this role supports commercial and residential property operations through project coordination, RFP development, data analysis, energy management initiatives, and continuous improvement projects. Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in the construction industry, or a construction-related role.
  • Post-secondary education in a construction-related field, with general exposure to many related fields being an asset.
  • Basic understanding of project management principles with an openness to learn and continuously improve this skill set.
  • Ability to convey clear and concise communications to a variety of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Understanding of data analytics, how to infer relationships from data sets, and draw useful insights with an aim towards increased efficiency and reduced operating costs.
  • Awareness of building science principles, site measurements, and the cause/effect of those interactions.
  • Able to follow established processes, think in a step-by-step procedural manner, and look for opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Organized and able to assist on multiple projects and tasks concurrently.

Responsibilities

  • Support energy management initiatives, including energy audits, building controls upgrades, Measurement & Verification (M&V), and participation in energy reduction programs.
  • Coordinate projects from planning through close-out, including RFP development, contractor/vendor coordination, budget tracking, scheduling, and site reviews.
  • Assist with building condition assessments, project scope development, and quality/workmanship inspections.
  • Maintain and analyze operational and asset data to support reporting, continuous improvement, and informed decision-making.
  • Monitor remote building systems and escalate operational issues as required.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, process records, and digital asset information.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, trades, and other business units to support operational troubleshooting and project success.
  • Assist with rebate and incentive applications and support business case development for new initiatives.
  • Participate in the organization’s energy management program, including energy reporting, project tracking, cohort participation, and completion of Certified Energy Manager (CEM) training.
