About The Position

Under general supervision, this role provides technical expertise, guidance, and management support for Fort Irwin's cultural resource management program. Texas A&M AgriLife is a large and comprehensive agricultural program comprising several entities focused on agriculture and life sciences. It aims to improve lives, environments, and the Texas economy through education, research, extension, and service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Five years of related experience in project coordination/administration.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, such that complex ideas, thoughts, and concepts are clearly articulated for both general and expert audience.
  • Ability to work productively with a wide array of different people and institutions.
  • Ability to focus on achieving clear and ambitious goals.
  • Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Knowledge of standard proofreading.
  • Ability to prioritize, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to leverage relationships to influence positive outcomes.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise, guidance, and management support for Fort Irwin National Historic Preservation Act consultation and documentation under Section 106/110.
  • Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive curation protocols and workflows; oversee and lead curation efforts, ensuring adherence to established standards, data quality requirements, and project objectives.
  • Coordinates project activities including project initiation, value assessments, work plan development, estimating, and project controls.
  • Recommends program guidelines, procedures, policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Geospatial mapping of cultural resources and other GIS work.
  • Technical report reviews and revisions.
  • Develop Archaeological Resources Protection Act (ARPA) and Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act (NAGPRA) plans of action to address inadvertent discoveries.
  • Assist with execution of tasks within the Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan (ICRMP) and agreement documents, such as a programmatic agreement.
  • Support Tribal consultation, meetings, and site visits.
  • Track permit and project milestones dates and deadlines.
  • Assist with documentation and evaluation of built features and structures, archaeological sites, Sacred sites, and Traditional Cultural Places.
  • Other duties as assigned.
