About The Position

Terrestrial Energy is a US developer of advanced, Generation IV nuclear reactors, specifically the Integral Molten Salt Reactor (IMSR) small modular nuclear plant. The company has recently merged and is publicly listed (NASDAQ “IMSR”), securing capital for growth. There is a unique opportunity to participate in the execution of the company’s growth business plan due to current government and industry interest in Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and advanced reactor technologies. Terrestrial Energy is building a team of high-performing professionals in engineering, R&D, product management, and business development at its Charlotte, North Carolina headquarters and future project sites. Requirements

Post-secondary degree or diploma in Engineering, Science, or a related field.
2-4 years of work experience in project planning or coordination for complex engineering projects, showcasing the ability to manage multiple deliverables and stakeholders.
Strong interpersonal skills to effectively liaise and build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organization.
Proficient use of Microsoft Project, Word, Excel, and Visio for project scheduling, documentation, data analysis, and visual communication.
High computer proficiency and quick adaptability to new software tools, enabling efficient workflow integration.
Exceptional ability to identify root causes and devise effective resolution strategies for complex project challenges.
Demonstrated flexibility to adapt plans and priorities in response to changing project deadlines and business needs.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, enabling clear and concise stakeholder engagement.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for sponsorship for employment visa status.
Successful candidate must be able to access and use information subject to U.S. Export Control Laws, which mandate all citizenships (including dual citizenships) be from the U.S. Department of Energy’s List of Generally Authorized Countries (10 CFR Part 810 Appendix A) unless a specific authorization from the U.S. Department of Energy is obtained or unless you are a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, or protected individual under the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Act (8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Exceptional multitasking ability to manage competing project goals and tight deadlines without compromising quality.
Knowledge or experience in nuclear or large scale power projects, understanding safety regulations and industry best practices.
Experience using Primavera P6.
Proficient use of Power BI for dashboard development and data visualization.
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or other relevant PMI designation(s).
Experience coordinating projects involving external suppliers, national laboratories, or government-funded programs.
Demonstrated experience presenting project status and recommendations to executive leadership teams, driving informed decision-making.

Responsibilities

Support the planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution of project controls activities across Terrestrial Energy’s programs and projects, including the Reactor Pilot Program, Fuel Line Pilot Facility, and other projects supporting IMSR technology development.
Ensure project schedules, reporting, documentation, and stakeholder communications remain accurate, current, and aligned with program objectives in a highly regulated advanced nuclear technology environment.
Gather and analyze project data, including task durations, resource allocations, and milestone dependencies, to prepare detailed schedule and status updates (such as forecast finish dates, percentage complete, and variance analysis).
Support the preparation of schedule forecasts for project completion by analyzing schedule activities, calculating monthly cost accruals, and maintaining an accurate project change log.
Support the integration of supplier and national laboratory partner schedules into overall program schedules.
Track and report on resource allocation and availability, ensuring optimal utilization and early identification of bottlenecks.
Contribute to the development and refinement of standardized project controls templates, procedures, and best practices.
Prepare project progress and variance reports, develop dashboards, and generate actionable insights to inform stakeholders and support decision-making.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation, ensuring all records are current, accurately versioned, and securely stored within document control and configuration management systems.
Assist in the coordination of internal and external document control, including supplier document interfaces.
Utilize project management software and tools (e.g., MS Project) to support scheduling, resource management, and reporting activities.
Facilitate clear and timely communication among project stakeholders, ensuring accurate dissemination of project information and alignment on objectives.
Schedule and coordinate project meetings, prepare agendas, capture minutes, and track action items to ensure follow-through.
Coordinate with Procurement to track the status of procurement processes, and support coordination with vendors and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Coordinate with project stakeholders, including engineering, safety, quality assurance, and licensing teams, to follow up on action items, monitor progress, and resolve outstanding issues.
Provide support and training to team members on project controls processes, tools, and software.
Assist in identifying potential project risks, assess impact and likelihood, and collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement mitigation plans.
Assist in monitoring project deliverables, perform quality checks, and verify compliance with defined standards before handover.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, evaluate best practices, and contribute to the implementation of streamlined project management methodologies.
Occasional travel to project sites as required.
