About The Position

The Project Coordinator/Construction Manager is responsible for assisting management of all construction associated with Darling and its subsidiaries. This role involves assisting in the selection and procurement of plant equipment and supplies, overseeing sub-contractors and Darling employees involved in construction, assisting with equipment start-up, maintaining tools and equipment, communicating with plant management, tracking job costs, and ensuring the safe operation of all equipment and tools. The position also requires hands-on fabrication, cutting, welding, installation, and equipment layout.

Requirements

High school diploma required.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience in construction/project management.
Good general mechanical background.
Good working relationship with others; team player.
Professional manner and attitude a must.

Nice To Haves

College degree in a related field preferred.
Millwright experience in addition to rendering experience.

Responsibilities

Assisting in management of all construction activities associated with Darling Ingredients and its subsidiaries.
Assisting in the selection or procurement of plant equipment and listing supplies necessary for the construction of plants or facilities operated by Darling.
Procurement, supervision, and safety of sub-contractors hired for construction.
Supervision of Darling employees used to construct or install equipment.
Assisting in the start-up of installed equipment.
Upkeep of tools and equipment owned by Darling and utilized by oneself or others under supervision or co-workers.
Communicating with plant management on the proper operation of equipment.
Assisting construction managers on job costs and tracking.
Ensuring the safe operations of all equipment and tools on all jobs at plants or facilities owned by Darling.
Overseeing on the job contractors 'hands on' fabrication of equipment; cutting, welding, installation and equipment layout.
Performing all other duties as assigned.
