About The Position

HF Sinclair is seeking a Project Controls Supervisor to support project teams by supervising, training, and overseeing Project Control Administrators. This role provides project and financial controls, tracking, and analysis for all major projects, enabling management to make informed decisions with accurate and timely data. The supervisor will act as a subject matter expert in project control tools and analytics, including estimating, project/cost and contractor reporting, and scheduling. They will also be responsible for accurate and timely reports to project managers and corporate management, helping subordinates strengthen their skills and improve productivity, and scheduling subordinates to ensure projects are covered across the region, sharing resources as needed. This role will increase support during turnaround execution to ensure reports are updated daily and transferred to corporate BI reports. The supervisor may also assist Project/TA Managers in evaluating contractor estimates, schedules, and resource plans, and train subordinates on systems like Track, cost/project control tools, SAP, and BI. Additionally, they will be involved in developing and improving current processes and systems, and may be assigned special tasks by their superior.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 10 years in planning, estimating, construction management, or project controls in a process plant or fuels terminal environment.
  • Experience supervising subordinates.
  • Broad understanding of engineering, construction, logistics and financial processes.
  • Advanced knowledge of accounting, contracting, and procurement software systems and processes.
  • Spreadsheet software skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and deliver to required deadlines.
  • Ability to work additional hours as required to support project control efforts.
  • Prioritization skills.
  • Ability to see how all the pieces affect the overall refinery, i.e., big picture perspective.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with others, both written and verbal communication.
  • Advanced reading and writing skills, with the ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations.
  • A minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Midstream pipeline experience.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or other technical discipline.
  • General proficiency in Microsoft packages Word, Outlook, Project, PowerPoint, with advanced skills in Excel.
  • Proficiency with SAP, Track, Power BI.
  • General knowledge of procedures and practices for contracting field construction activities.

  • Performing special assignments or tasks as assigned by their superior.
  • Providing leadership, coaching, mentoring and training to subordinate company and contracted resources to meet the requirements of the projects.
