The Project Controls Specialist (PMO Scheduling) assists project management teams by developing, monitoring, and updating integrated project plans and schedules so projects can be executed efficiently. The role applies scheduling methods, standards, processes, procedures, guidelines, and templates to develop and control project schedules. Assignments are based on expected results and established policies; the incumbent may select among alternative approaches, with decisions sometimes involving changes to normal work processes. The position develops and analyzes project schedules, maintains schedule information and lessons learned, checks schedule credibility, and ensures planning and scheduling controls are implemented and maintained. It prepares progress reports, trend charts, forecasts, schedule analyses, recovery schedules, and alternate courses of action. The role may also support project time or cost claims and contribute to continuous improvement in the scheduling organization. This is a hybrid role with an established schedule of in-person work at an assigned work location. Remote work is expected to be performed from the employee’s primary residence, subject to company remote-work guidelines. The position requires availability for a primary assignment supporting DTE emergency response to storms or other events affecting customer service. Incumbents may be required to work in a power plant environment, including climbing stairs and working in hot or confined areas.
