About The Position

UDR is seeking a Project Controls SME to support an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) project. This is an on-site opportunity in Aiken, South Carolina, with a duration of 3+ months.

The role provides project-controls expertise to management and project teams. The SME advises on classification requirements, compliance, the CD process, and deliverable formats; reviews specifications and estimates; contributes to schedules and risk-informed milestones; and advises on constructability, maintainability, operability, and commissioning. The role also provides input to technical writers preparing project documentation.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Working knowledge of applicable Federal (including Department of Energy Orders), State, and Local codes and standards for project controls.
• Fifteen years of experience in engineering, construction, operations, estimating, scheduling, project controls, proposal development, and/or project management.
• Five years of experience demonstrating knowledge of the desired area of subject matter expertise.
• Bachelor’s degree; candidates who do not meet the education requirement may be considered based on additional relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to management on classification requirements, compliance, the CD process, and deliverable format.
• Review and provide input to specifications for engineered equipment and/or subcontracts.
• Review and provide input to estimators on labor and other-than-labor resources needed to perform the scope of work.
• Provide input to schedulers on activity sequence, durations, and logic.
• Provide input to management regarding risk-informed schedules used as the basis for establishing milestones and PBIs.
• Provide input to engineers, estimators, and schedulers on constructability, maintainability, operability, and commissioning.
• Provide input to technical writers for BOEs, BOS, and the WBS data dictionary.
