About The Position

Duke Energy is seeking motivated and organized students for a Project Controls Internship. This program offers on-the-job experience in managing a portfolio of real capital projects, with opportunities for end-to-end ownership of distinct deliverables. Interns will enhance project management skills, participate in a speaker series with top leaders, engage in social activities with other interns, and gain valuable networking opportunities. Requirements

Currently enrolled and pursuing a four-year degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Building Science Accounting, Business Administration, Project Management, or other related degree.
Must not graduate prior to August 2026.
Cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
Must be able to work full-time (40 hours/week) throughout the duration of the summer.
Ability to work lawfully in the U.S. without employment-based immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

Microsoft Excel experience, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP etc.
Financial experience
Data analytics experience
Prior project management controls experience

Responsibilities

Assist with managing a portfolio of real capital projects.
Be assigned responsibility for specific tasks within the project management process, including cost, schedule, communications, risk management, quality assurance of scheduling and cost management data, and metric reporting.
Ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
Generate reporting to effectively monitor and manage project performance.
