About The Position

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, business or other related field
  • 15 years or more of experience, preferably on airport projects
  • Previous project controls experience on a large-scale, multi-million dollar construction project required.
  • Experience on a large-scale aviation-related project is required.
  • Experience evaluating and reporting on at least two types of Alternative Delivery methods is required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of software products, e.g. Excel, Word, etc.
  • Experience with industry PMIS systems such as PMweb, etc.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat is required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience with Primavera Project Planner Version 6.0 or higher is desirable
  • Expertise in other Project Controls disciplines (scheduling, estimating, risk management) strongly desired

Responsibilities

  • Review cost and contract performance of the Capital Program and report variances and risks using LAWA’s PMIS and other sources.
  • Develop programmatic policies, procedures, and reports to ensure proper cost controls across the Capital Program.
  • Perform independent analysis of project cost and contract performance throughout the project life cycle, including budgeting, invoice processing, progress reporting, resource management, and closeout.
  • Assist in the development and administration of LAWA’s Program Services Budget.
  • Collaborate with the Program Risk Manager to properly calculate and report project and programmatic risks.
  • Develop tools and coordinate cost recording, monitoring, and reporting practices for compliance with applicable standards, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Assist and train cost engineering staff across the Capital Program.
  • Collaborate with Finance and the Estimating team on the Asset Register and project Capitalization.
  • Collaborate with Controls staff on Expenditure Forecasting.
  • Support controls efforts to respond to internal and external audits.
