About The Position

At NG Gilbert, project controls is about more than tracking numbers. It's about giving our operations teams the information they need to make better decisions, keep projects moving, and deliver for our customers. As a Project Controls Coordinator, you'll work across multiple utility construction markets, helping leadership understand project productivity, labor utilization, scheduling, resource allocation, and cost performance. You'll partner with project managers and field leaders to turn project data into meaningful information that directly supports how work is planned and executed. For someone who enjoys connecting data with operations, this role offers exposure to the inner workings of a multi-state utility construction organization and an opportunity to continue building experience across project controls, project management, and operations.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of experience in project controls, project coordination, operations support, scheduling, construction administration, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong understanding of labor tracking, productivity analysis, and project cost structures.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both field and operational leadership.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting utility construction, electrical distribution, infrastructure, or a related industry is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting electrical utility contractors.
  • Knowledge of overhead and underground electrical distribution construction.
  • Experience analyzing labor production and project performance metrics.
  • Familiarity with utility storm-restoration operations.
  • Experience developing operational reports and dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Tracking project labor hours, production rates, and cost performance across multiple active projects.
  • Maintaining daily, weekly, and monthly productivity reports.
  • Comparing actual labor hours against planned hours and identifying variances.
  • Supporting workforce planning and resource allocation to help ensure projects are appropriately staffed.
  • Monitoring project schedules and communicating project status and staffing needs with operations leadership.
  • Tracking equipment utilization and supporting project-execution planning.
  • Developing and maintaining Excel-based reports, dashboards, and tracking tools.
  • Providing operational reporting and analysis to company leadership.
  • Identifying trends, productivity concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Partnering with project managers, field leadership, and operations teams to ensure accurate project tracking and reporting.
  • Supporting emergency utility restoration and storm-response activities when required.
