About The Position

Teal Energi is seeking an experienced Project Controller to support capital projects at a client’s Corpus Christi, Texas facility. The role focuses primarily on project scheduling, schedule development and maintenance, progress monitoring, and schedule reporting rather than traditional cost control. The Project Controller works across Projects, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Maintenance, and contractor teams to develop and maintain Level 1 and Level 2 schedules using Microsoft Project. The role supports projects through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout. It also supports Management of Change activities, integrates operational constraints into schedules, coordinates schedule interfaces, and helps plan brownfield work at an operating industrial facility. The position requires onsite work at the client facility. Teal Energi is a technical manpower provider supporting major capital project investments across traditional energy and energy-transition sectors, as well as manufacturing, mining, and infrastructure. The company states its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Solid understanding of scheduling fundamentals, including dependencies, milestones, critical path, constraints, baselines, progress measurement, and forecasting.
  • Experience developing integrated schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, turnover, and closeout.
  • Experience evaluating schedule trends, risks, delays, changes, and recovery opportunities.
  • Experience supporting Management of Change processes within an operating industrial environment.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate schedule status and risks to project teams, contractors, and leadership.

  • Evaluate schedule impacts resulting from scope changes, design changes, field conditions, and other project developments.
  • Develop recovery scenarios and identify opportunities to mitigate schedule delays.
  • Prepare schedule reports, milestone reports, look-ahead schedules, progress updates, and schedule variance information.
  • Validate project progress and remaining durations with engineering, construction, and contractor teams.
  • Identify schedule trends, execution risks, delays, and potential recovery opportunities.
  • Provide schedule updates, constraints, upcoming activities, and areas of concern during project status meetings.
