About The Position

Prepares, monitors and coordinates contracts to assure timely and successful completion with contractual requirements; provides construction phase services to ensure compliance with specifications. Resolves conflicts between the utility and contractors and ensures coordination of project completion to keep interruptions of plant operations to a minimum. Manages assigned special projects requiring complex analytical, research and organizational skills. Serves as On-Call Supervisor on rotating schedule for plant related emergencies after hours and weekends.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in water/wastewater plants; or any combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job
• Valid State Commercial Driver’s License
• Must be or become Missouri Class D Water Operator Licensed within first six (6) months of hire
• Must complete required NIMS level training within first six (6) months of hire
• Thorough knowledge of operation, construction, and maintenance of a water production and wastewater treatment facility and related equipment
• Record keeping, report preparation, filing methods and records organization skills
• Project management principals and practices, including inspection, documentation and plan updates
• Safety procedures utilized on construction sites
• Computer applications related to the work
• Skill in reading and interpreting construction plans, specifications, engineering and architectural drawings
• Ability to communicate effectively with the public both verbally and in writing

Nice To Haves

• Associate Degree or equivalent preferred
• Bilingual skills preferred
