About The Position

NCE is seeking a motivated Project Civil Engineer for its South Lake Tahoe office. This role offers the opportunity to work on projects that improve and preserve the Tahoe Basin and Sierra region communities, including roadway improvements, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, ADA accessibility, stormwater management, green infrastructure, ecological restoration, and recreation projects. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering
• 3-10 years of professional civil engineering experience
• Civil engineering experience with transportation and utility projects.
• Proficiency in latest versions of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• 10+ years of professional experience
• AutoCAD Civil 3D (particularly grading module) and GIS integration skills.
• Experience with complete streets, low impact development, green infrastructure, bicycle and pedestrian design, ADA compliance, and stormwater runoff reduction design.
• Experience with regulatory agencies, including federally/state funded projects and associated documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and generate plans, specifications, and engineer’s estimates (PS&E).
• Review field reports prepared by staff specialists.
• Provide guidance to office and field personnel.
• Organize field work and assign tasks to staff specialists.
• Assemble, review, and evaluate complex data. Integrate data evaluations prepared by staff specialists into projects.
• Contact vendors.
• Work with internal and external clients.
• Research regulatory requirements, design guidelines, local, state and federal standards, and other relevant literature.
